Amazing Opportunity: DreamCrits

As I have briefly mentioned on an earlier post, I was lucky enough to attend a "DreamCrits" lecture at DreamWorks' studios this month! California State University, Fullerton participates with other California schools to attend these lectures. A couple students from each school were chosen to have their work critiqued by professionals currently working at DreamWorks in this group critique! I am glad to say one of my classmates was chosen for this honor! It was so fun and enlightening to attend and hear what everyone had to say, and of course see what other students have been working on! The critique I went to was for 3D modeling, so I was taking notes like a madwomen so that I can make my next model even better! I can't say too much, but I will say if your school participates in these wonderful lectures do attend! It is well worth your time and tons of fun too! I hope to be able to submit my work next semester- I will let you know if I get in!

P.S.-- They do tons of different production art critiques! Like visual development art too! So go if you can!

My Sketchbook Pages: Big Cat Studies

As promised, more gesture drawing studies I did from the book Drawing Animals by Hugh Laidman, 2003. This is the second installment in, a good handful to come!

And course I do not claim the original drawings as my own; these are just studies to practice what I have been learning in my Animal and Wildlife drawing class.

All of the drawings were done in a dark brown Prismacolor colored pencil.

Some fun with my tablet: Self Portrait

Last night, instead of doing my homework, I got my tablet working on my new computer!!! I had to test it out and so naturally I got distracted and wanted to have some fun with it! I ended up with this fun, loose self portrait :)

My Sketchbook Pages: Horse Studies

The following drawings are straight from my sketchbook! These gesture drawing studies are from the book Drawing Animals by Hugh Laidman, 2003. I have been drawing from this book since January, so I will be posting my drawings in chronological order, so you can see my progress! These are the first drawings I did from that book, all of horses and a couple mules.

And course I do not claim the original drawings as my own; these are just studies to practice what I have been learning in my Animal and Wildlife drawing class.

All of the drawings were done in a dark brown Prismacolor colored pencil.

I'm Back!!!

Hello friends!

It has been a quiet couple of months on my blog! But do not fear- it has been so because I have been busy doing TONS of new art! A preview of what is to come very, very shortly:  Animal drawings! Sculptures! New character designs! And updates on my recent activities such as rigging my dear Billy Goat, and my trip to DreamWorks!

See, I have been busy! :)
Be checking back soon! Lots of new posts are on their way!
