Sherbet: Quick Paint

This was a fun paint! Her hair ended up reminding me of sherbet :) Painted in Corel Painter 12 which I have not worked in for quite some time. It was fun to work with their brushes again!

Doodle: Swirls and Dots

Swirls and Dots! A cartoony doodle that turned into a fun paint. You can still see most of my pencil, and I finished the paint in Corel Painter 12.

Rainy Day Painting

This painting is in honor of the rain I have missed so much!
I started with a colored pencil drawing in my sketchbook and took to painting in Corel Painter 12.

Some fun! Pokemon Fan Art

A rainy day means Pokemon fan art time! These are a few goofy quick sketches I did earlier today on my tablet. Long live the first 151!

I do NOT claim any rights to Pokemon or the characters! This is fan art. Thank you.

Boris Bear: He exists!

Finally Boris Bear is here! All of those trees and that cabin are for this guy's film! I have included one of my character design paintings, along with Boris himself as he lives as a model in Maya 2013. At this point I am not 100% finished painting his textures, so these are just the base colors. Both the image and textures were painted in Photoshop CS5 and Corel Painter 12 on a Bamboo Tablet.

Stylized Trees: Trio Tree Model

This tree is from my set of designs for my 3D short film starring Boris Bear. This is the sixth of seven trees in the set (see "Original Stylized Tree Designs" for the original set of sketches:  http://briannaleahyart.blogspot.com/2012/06/original-stylized-tree-designs.html ) This will be the final model of the set as one of the original seven was omitted for a more cohesive look.

This tree is painted in simple color for now.

Gentleman Billy Goat: Textures!

I am happy to bring you up to date on my Billy Goat model! I am still nowhere near finished, but I do want to share with you my texture map and textures on my goat so far! The plan is to do more texturing with bump maps next, and add more detail to the painted textures (which you see here). Check back for more new posts and progress reports soon!

A New Me!

As I was looking around on other art blogs, I began to notice that a good majority of the artists used self portraits of themselves for their profile pictures, and I thought to myself, why don't I? So last night I hopped on Corel Painter 12 and did this quick paint of me! And the result? Behold my dorky self portrait :)

The Good Sorceress

This medieval character is in possession of a wonderful and powerful gift. She is able to bring life even in the most desolate of places, as she is depicted here, bringing to life a plant in an abandoned castle garden. There is still much for me to do in this painting, so be on the lookout for a more finished version as with the Winter Lord's Castle. This digital painting is being done in Corel Painter 12, with a little help from Adobe Photoshop CS5.

Castle of a Winter Lord

This will be my first full digital painting project done in Corel Painter. It is getting close to finish, but especially now that I am posting it, I can see there are definitely some changes that need to be made! The premise of this painting is that the castle is that of a winter lord, who is shown bringing the winter weather to the landscape as he rides home.

Speed Paintings!

The two following paintings were done as 20 minute speed painting exercises. They are both based off original compositions and digital paintings by Cliff Cramp, my illustration professor and professional artist. I used Corel Painter 12 for both of these pieces as well.
