Artist Discovery! : Kevin Condron

Hello all! No I have not dropped off the face of the Earth! I have just been really busy with family and school! So I will be posting new work of my own soon! But to tide you over, I must share this online portfolio!!! I enjoyed looking through the character model sheets and watching his cleanup reel! I love to see the effect of the plain line on paper for these animation sequences that we are all used to seeing totally finished! It is fun to see them at this stage! Check it out at:

Artist Discovery! : Simon Tofield

If you have not run across Simon Tofield's "Simon's Cat" animated films on youtube, or had a friend awesome enough to show you his work, I am here to fill that gap! I saw his first film 'Cat Man Do' a year or two ago, and I could not help but smile when watching it! This adorable cat with its mischievous antics are sure to entertain any animal lover and make your day :) I find that the simplicity of the black line on white lends itself to the stylization of the characters -- I love the design of the cat!!! So I encourage you to check out the website below, click on the 'Films' tab, and enjoy!

(p.s.-- his new one 'Double Trouble' is extremely cute and funny!)

Artist Discovery! : Therese Larsson

Tonight I want to share with you an artist whose digital portfolio I ran across while on the internet! She is Therese Larsson, and I just instantly fell in love with her illustrations! I was so taken with her use of color and the playful expressions on her characters that I instantly put her digital painting "You" as my desktop background so I could admire it further :) I found the use of realistic texture on the animals in her illustrations to be astounding, a quality that makes her characters that much more endearing! So I encourage you to give her online portfolio a look (click the link below!) and I hope you enjoy her work as much as I do!
